Facilities

At Ryerson United Church we believe part of God’s mission for us is to offer space for the community to gather. We have three buildings for public use: the actual church space on the west side of Yew, and the Memorial Centre and gym, on the east side of Yew. All are wheel chair accessible. The use of alcohol is not permitted in any of the buildings. Rental fees are reasonable, and are used to cover the cost of maintaining the buildings and our presence in the community.

Space is dependent upon availability. Should you require further information on booking policies and fees, please contact Jean Roan , Church Administrator.

Meeting Rooms
Meeting rooms in our Memorial Centre can accommodate groups from 10 to 250 people, with adjacent kitchen facilities.  Tables and chairs can be set up to the user’s specifications.

Gym
The gym is currently used by the Scouting movement, Gymboree, our Thrift Sale, birthday parties and badminton and basketball players. It is a ‘well used’ building that you are welcome to use also.

Preschools
There are two preschools at Ryerson: Bumble Bee and Montessori. For information regarding registration please contact:
Bumble Bee - 604-263-6422 or registrar@bumblebeepreschool.org
Kerrisdale Montessori School - 604-261-4434 or mirandadeis@telus.net

Community Garden
We are pleased to host a community garden in partnership with posAbilities, an agency which assists with the integration of the developmentally disabled and the communities in which they live. Congregational members, preschool participants and neighbours have started up our first fourteen plots. For information about receiving a plot, please contact Jean Roan , Church Administrator.

Chapel
The Chapel is in the church building and offers a more intimate space for smaller gatherings, accommodating up to 35.

Concert/Recital Venue
Our Sanctuary holds up to 500 people and, if you are not already aware, our acoustics are the best! The Memorial Centre has great space for rehearsals, including lots of room for dancing.

The Garden of Remembrance
The Garden of Remembrance is located on the north side of the church building. It is a secluded area providing a space for quiet meditation. Ashes of members and adherents have been interred here. They are listed in a Book of Remembrance, located in the chapel.
