We Welcome Everyone
Ryerson is a mainline Protestant congregation with a progressive theology. We are excited about our inclusion of children, seniors, families, single adults, teens and young adults, gays and lesbians, and we are seeking ways to be more ethnically diverse.
We strive to eliminate impediments to those who have special needs: our church and the Centre are wheelchair accessible, we have an ASL interpreter during our Sunday morning worship services to aid those who are deaf and, our co-ordinator for our Children @ the Centre programme is familiar with ASL. We also have an excellent sound system including special earphones for the hearing impaired.
We have two buildings at the corner of West 45th Avenue and Yew Street in Kerrisdale.
Our church building, where we worship most often, is on the northwest corner. It’s a large, traditional looking stone church built in 1927, with beautiful William Morris stained glass windows.
The church offices and our meeting rooms are in the Ryerson Memorial Centre, built in 1949. You will find this wheelchair-accessible building across the street on the northeast corner at 2195 West 45th Avenue. Good use is made of this building all day and into the evening. It is especially busy on weekday evenings when various church groups and many other community groups hold their meetings and rehearsals.
We welcome you to Ryerson, and invite you to share in our community’s life and work. We believe that God’s welcome includes everyone. We trust that you will find a place among us.
